My Country Rejected Me

(God Save The Son)

Psalm 17:1-5 Paraphrased

Christ prays to the Father

My Country, 'Tis of Thee,

But they rejected Me.

Assert My cause!

Let justice adjust this,

And do You what just is,

Maintaining all of Your Laws.

God Save The Son

P5:1 Come near You, and hear now,

Jehovah, Your ear bow,

Attend My right.

My tears and My prayers they

My God are not hearsay

But are all real in Your sight

God Save The Son

P5:1 Not a fake displaying

I know no complaining.

You see Me, God,

My crying, dying,

Deep groans upwards flying,

Do all reach up to Your abode,

God Save The Son

P5:2 Be sent out Your sentence

Which knows no repentance!

You won't revoke.

For surely and purely,

Your words endure, yes!

Unmov'd they are as a rock,

God Save The Word

P5:3 O prove Me! Remove Me

If You can reprove Me,

When I am try'd,

I did not claim or name

Any gain. Unashamed

In truth I always do confide

God Save The Son.

P5:4 Your right hand, by night and

By day, never slighted.

When I'm searched out,

Severely and clearly,

Of sin, late or early,

within and without.

God Save The Son

P5:5 No blame shall, no shame shall,

No trespass My name soil,

In thought or deed.

Annoyed and destroyed,

My evil-employed

Proud enemies will bleed.

God Saved The Son

Song taken from Psalm 17:1-5

1O Jehovah, hear righteousness; listen to my cry; give ear to my prayer, for it is not in lips of deceit.

2 Let my judgment go out from Your face; Your eyes see uprightly.

3 You will test my heart; You will visit in the night; You will refine me; You will find nothing; my thoughts do not pass beyond my mouth.

4 As to the doings of men, by the Words of Your lips I keep from the paths of the violent.

5 My steps have kept in Your tracks so that my strides have not slipped.
